Privacy Statement
Storageplex is committed to respecting the privacy rights of all visitors to our Site. The following policy describes how Storageplex protects information it receives from visitors to the Site:
What information does Storageplex collect and how does Storageplex use it?
You may visit and use many features of our Site without any registration at all, however, in order to create a photo album, or to purchase or use certain of the products and/or services on the Site, we require you to create an Storageplex account. When you create an account, we will collect contact information (like your name and email address), and demographic information (like your zip code, age, or income level). If you purchase any products on the Site, your credit card and shipping information will also be collected. We use email links located on the "Contact Us" portion of this page to allow you to contact us directly with any questions or comments you may have. We try to read every message sent in and to reply promptly. This information is used to respond directly to your questions or comments. We may also file your comments to improve the Site, or review and discard the information.
We use the information we collect to tailor your experience at our Site to content that we think you might be interested in, to display content according to your preferences, and to provide a faster method for you to submit information to Storageplex, and receive back information or products you desire. We also use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Site. In addition, your IP address is used to gather broad aggregated demographic information, such as the number of visitors from a geographic area. When you enter a contest or other promotional feature, Storageplex may ask for additional information, including contact information (like your email address), and demographic information (like your zip code, age, or income level), as well as consumer preference information so that we are able to better administer the contest and notify winners. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information.
We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the Site, new Storageplex services, and special offers we think you'll find valuable. If you would rather not receive this information, or would like to opt-out of any other information request or distribution, simply submit such a request to Storageplex at support@storageplex.com.
How does Storageplex protect visitor information?
Storageplex implements a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. User personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of employees who have special access rights to such systems. When you place orders or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive/credit information supplied by users is transmitted and protected via HTTPS protocol for encrypted transfer of data. Our site also includes redundancy in hardware and software components of product and system architecture, network and software firewall protection, strong internal system authentication methods (triple-DES) and user authentication methods for access to member accounts.
To ensure compliance with updated security technology, Storageplex recommends using one of the following browsers, each of which can be downloaded free of charge: Netscape Navigator (http://www.netscape.com), or Microsoft Internet Explorer (http://www.microsoft.com/ie). To ensure the highest level of security available today, Storageplex suggests that you choose the 128-bit encryption version from the download options. If you do not have access to a browser that supports at least 48-bit encryption, your information may not be processed by Storageplex's servers, or may not be securely transferred through your web browser to Storageplex's servers. When you submit information to us (or to any other web site) over the Internet, the information may travel over many networks and systems that are not under the control of Storageplex. The Internet is not completely secure and others may intercept the information that you are sending. Further, anything you voluntarily provide in any public area of the Internet, including on our Site, will be publicly available to other visitors on that web site and potentially to other third parties, and you should always exercise caution when deciding to publicly disclose any of your personal information.
Does Storageplex use "cookies"?
Cookies are bits of electronic information that a web site can transfer to a visitor's hard drive to help tailor and keep records of his or her visit to the site. Cookies allow web site operators to better customize visits to the site to the visitor's individual preferences. The use of cookies is standard on the Internet and many web sites use them. Although most web browsers automatically accept cookies, you can usually change your browser to prevent or notify you whenever you are sent a cookie. This gives you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it. Even without accepting a cookie, you can still access most of the features on the site.
Storageplex uses cookies so that they can help provide visitors with a better experience on our Site, and to save your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our Site. If you would like more information about cookies, we suggest you visit http://www.cookiecentral.com.
Storageplex uses outside ad companies to display ads on our Site. These ads may contain cookies. Information received from cookies transferred to your hard drive when you click on a banner ad are collected by our ad companies, and we do not have access to this information.
Does Storageplex disclose the information it collects from its visitors to outside parties?
Storageplex does not currently sell, trade, or otherwise transfer outside of Storageplex personally identifiable information that visitors voluntarily provide in any registration, purchase, or contest submission. This information is used by Storageplex to better understand visitors' use of the Site, to support related transactions made on the Site, and to better know our visitors and possibly tailor any specific features, promotions, or other notifications to them. However, Storageplex does from time to time share data solely in an aggregate form (that will not enable third parties to personally identify individual users, including you) to affiliates for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
Storageplex's special note to parents
Pursuant to the provisions of the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we are not permitted, and therefore do not, collect personal identifiable information from children we actually know to be under thirteen years of age without the consent of that child's parent or legal guardian. Our Site is a general audience web site that does not contain content specifically directed to children under the age of 13. However, parents may always request to review any information we have collected from their child, may ask to have that information modified, restricted or deleted, and may refuse to allow further collection or use of the child's information at any time. To request such review or to give instructions regarding the information we have collected about a child, parents/legal guardians should contact us as specified below under "Contact Us". If we discover we have collected personal identifiable information from a child we actually know to be under thirteen years of age, we will take prompt action to block that child's access to our Site, and to delete all such personal identifiable information we have collected.
We encourage parents and guardians to spend time online with their children, to participate in the interactive activities offered online, and for children to consult with their parents before submitting any information to this or any other web site. Although a guest under eighteen years of age may be allowed, with their parent's permission and supervision, to participate in noted contests, if such a guest wins, notification and prizes will be sent to such guest's parents or guardian. Parents should consider using parental control tools available from online services and software manufacturers to help supervise their children's online activities. These tools can also prevent children from disclosing their name, address, and other personal information online without parental permission.
We remind all our users that our Site Terms require a minor to obtain permission to use the Site.
How does a visitor opt-out, remove, or modify information they have provided to Storageplex?
After gathering any user information, Storageplex offers users the opportunity to remove their information from our database so as not to receive future communications or to no longer interact with the Site until they later chose to by sending such a request to Storageplex at support@storageplex.com, or as set forth below under "Contact Us." Storageplex additionally provides users the opportunity to update and modify any information they have previously provided by viewing their information sent directly to them following such a request to support@storageplex.com, and updating and/or modifying the information previously provided. However, if a visitor at anytime chooses to no longer receive such information and opt-out from any future mailings, they should simply reply to Storageplex's removal instructions and request to be removed from any such list and/or mailings, or they may also send such a request to support@storageplex.com.
Third party links and co-brand relationships
In an attempt to provide increased value to our visitors, Storageplex may choose various third party web sites to link to from, and frame within, its own site. Storageplex also participates in co-branding and other relationships to offer e-commerce and other services and features to its users. However, even if the third party is affiliated with Storageplex, Storageplex has no control over these linked sites, each of who have separate privacy and data collection practices independent of Storageplex. Data collected by our co-brand partners or third party web sites (even if offered on or through our site) is not received, stored, or used in any way by Storageplex. As such, Storageplex has no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions, and is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any such web sites. These linked sites are only for your convenience and you therefore access them at your own risk. Nonetheless, Storageplex seeks to protect the integrity of its Site and the links placed upon it and therefore requests any feedback on not only its own Site, but for sites it links to as well (including if a specific link does not work).
Your consent
By using our Site, you consent to the collection and use of information by Storageplex as set forth in this Privacy Statement. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you will always be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what limited circumstances we disclose it. Continued access or use of the Site shall constitute your express acceptance of any modifications to this Privacy Statement. However, if we change the way in which we use your personal identifiable information, we will notify you of such change electronically.
